Juniors
are given up to three short homework sessions per week in Year 3,
rising to four longer sessions of 30 to 45 minutes in Years 5 and 6. Infants are encouraged to bring home books (graded according to the child’s reading level) for daily reading sessions with parents or other members of the family. Once a fortnight they visit the Peers School Library, where they can borrow books of their choice for reading at home. In Years 1 and 2, children are given a few spelling words to learn each week and other tasks may also be given from time to time to support individual children’s learning needs. Homework is intended to be enjoyable, and should take only a few minutes each evening. |
