Upper Juniors The school works very closely with parents, and pupils are set up to five pieces of homework each week, each between 20 and 40 minutes in length (depending on the age of the child). Homework is seen as an opportunity to develop pupils' learning, enabling them to grow in self-discipline, and prepare them for their future studies. Lower Juniors In addition to their reading books, children receive weekly spelling lists and maths homework. Children also receive topic homework to support their class studies Infants Children are encouraged to bring home books (graded according to the child's reading level) for daily reading sessions with parents or other members of the family. Once a fortnight they visit the Peers School Library, where they can borrow books of their choice for reading at home. Occasional homework is given in other subjects. It is intended to be enjoyable, and should only take a few minutes each evening. |
