As a parent-run school, ECS welcomes and indeed depends upon the active involvement of
parents in policy making and practical day-to-day running. It is not necessary for parents or
children to be practising Christians (throughout the school's life, we have normally had a mix
in the school of churchgoing and non-churchgoing families, representing a wide range of
beliefs). However, all parents must be willing to accept that the education provided will be in
line with the School's Doctrinal Basis. ECS is managed principally by parents of pupils through the School Association and the Board of Management. Whatever their interest or experience, there is always scope for parents to get involved in one or more of the varied aspects of school life. The diversity of parents' gifts and skills is what keeps the school alive! The School Association has overall responsibility for the management of all school matters. Meetings of the Association are normally held once a term. All parents and staff, whether or not they are formally members of the Association, are strongly encouraged to take part in these meetings, where all major issues affecting the School are discussed. The Board of Management is drawn from members of the Association. Responsibility for all aspects of the general running of the School is delegated by the Association to the Board which normally meets on a bi-monthly basis with the Head Teacher in attendance.
