Special Needs

We value each child as special, unique, with God-given talents and abilities. Our small classes mean that every child is seen as an individual and teachers are well aware of particular needs. We aim to provide education that is appropriate to the needs of all the children in our care, in partnership with parents. Children have special needs for a variety of reasons. These may be because of exceptional giftedness; becuase English is an additional language for them; or because of learning or behavioural difficulties, sensory or physical needs. The school has a specialist teacher who leads and co-ordinates special education. Pupils identified as needing help will be given an IEP (Individual Education Plan) which shows the difficulties the child is having; what help the school will give; what form the help will take; what targets have been set for the child and how the school will measure when the targets have been reached.
